This project focuses on the transition from the linear to a circular chemical industry in western North Brabant. The project partners are working to develop advanced chemical recycling techniques, combined with comprehensive education and training programmes, to achieve a sustainable future.

The project focuses on renewing and expanding educational programmes on chemical recycling at various levels, and provides On-the-Job Training (OJT) for students, job seekers and current employees. In addition, the project stimulates innovation through cooperation between companies and knowledge institutions and practical research. It also strives to share knowledge and experiences with both companies and the general public to promote awareness and acceptance of chemical recycling.

Opportunities and benefits for businesses, teachers and students

C-Recycle offers companies in the region special opportunities. Innovation managers gain direct insight into the latest technologies through collaboration with leading knowledge institutions and access to state-of-the-art laboratories. This enables them to actively participate in the development and application of innovative chemical recycling techniques, such as pyrolysis and solvolysis. In addition, companies can benefit from a pool of professionals trained in the latest methods, strengthening talent development within the sector. Participation in exclusive networking events and conferences offers companies the chance to collaborate with other stakeholders and keep abreast of the latest developments. The project also offers comprehensive support for start-ups and entrepreneurs with innovative ideas, through workshops, pitch competitions and guidance in developing business plans.

C-Recycle offers students and teachers numerous opportunities to learn about the future of chemical recycling. For students, there is an updated curriculum that covers the latest developments, with a strong emphasis on technology and sustainability. Through On-the-Job Training (OJT) and participation in laboratory research, students gain valuable practical experience that prepares them well for a career in sustainable chemistry. Teachers and job seekers can also participate in research projects and attend specialised workshops and training courses to further develop their knowledge and skills.

C-RECYCLE will build a sustainable learning infrastructure providing a learning environment for bachelor and master students; workshops for LLO (lifelong learning) and support for start-ups. The aim is to contribute to a flexible and resilient labour market in Western North Brabant through an inclusive and community-oriented approach.

We invite companies, students, teachers and other interested parties to participate in C-Recycle. Together, we can contribute to a sustainable future and transform the chemical industry. To do so, interested parties contact Jappe de Best for this purpose. For questions on revenue, business, and funding models, please contact Marleen Janssen Groesbeek.
